Visit Brainerd Association Offers Special HOT DEALS on Lodging and Activities Discounts!
The need for speed brings in thousands of visitors during the summer and fall as Brainerd International Raceway hosted the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in August. These National Hot Rod Association drag races feature the top drivers in the country. Watching those cars top 300 miles per hour on a quarter mile track is breath-taking and earth-shaking! Fans arrive from around the world to observe races hosted at BIR. For a chance to run your own car on the quarter mile track, check out the Wednesday night Drag Races also held at BIR. September 14, 15 and 16 will see BIR hosting the CRA Superbike races!
For those who prefer their races to move at a slower pace, Turtle Races are held every Wednesday afternoon in downtown Nisswa, or you might like to try the Friday Duck Races on the Pine River! Vacationers who like to get wet can try racing a jet ski across the water or riding on a pair of water-skis or a towable tube. Boats and marine toys rentals are available in several locations on nearby lakes.
“Our Visit Brainerd Association members are happy to offer special discounts on lodgings and to join with other area merchants to offer web-only opportunities to save. If racing is in your blood, you will find it here, but if you prefer a slower pace, you’ll find lots of opportunities to interact with nature. The 18th annual Taste Of Pequot and Arts & Crafts Fair held September 15th is just one suggestion for enjoying the Lakes Area. Contact us, we can help you plan a Minnesota getaway tailored to your speed!”
