Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 11, 2012
The Dallas Cowboys led the NFL last year in attendance, averaging 85,512 fans at each home game for a 106.9 percent home attendance record. As one of the NFL’s most high-profile teams, the Cowboys have won 21 Division championships, 10 Conference championships and appeared in eight Super Bowls, winning five Lombardi trophies.

Home field for the team is Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Completed in May of 2009, it is the largest domed stadium in the world. The venue has a retractable roof and seats 80,000, but is expandable to seat up to 100,000 fans. One of the highlights of the $1.3 billion dollar venue is its gigantic, center-hung high definition television, which like the stadium itself, is the largest in the world.
The team’s season opening 24 – 17 win against the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants was a confidence boost for a squad that had been beaten twice by the Giants last season. After a slow start and an interception, Dallas QB Tony Romo began to penetrate the Giants defense, finishing with 307 yards passing, three touchdowns and a 129.5 quarterback rating. Another plus for the Dallas Cowboys was that their offensive line protected Romo against a front four that was hyped as the best in the game, but only able to sack Romo twice all game. Meanwhile, the Dallas defense also stepped up, sacking Giants QB Eli Manning three times and limiting New York's time of possession to just over 25 minutes.
For Cowboys’ fans, the season promises a myriad of great rivalries and matchups. The Cowboys face the Seahawks next at CenturyLink Stadium. Then they play their home opener on September 23rd against the Buccanneers and host the Bears the following week. After two more games on the road in Weeks 6 and 7 against the Ravens and Panthers, they face the Giants again at home on October 28th. Then it’s the Falcons and the Eagles on the road, followed by the Browns, Redskins and Eagles at home. After an away game at the Bengals, the Cowboys finish out the season with two home games against the Steelers and Saints, and end the season on the road with their final regular season game, a re-match against Redskins.
