I work hard to make sure my clients’ best interests are upheld. Receiving the ‘Champion of Justice’ award makes me proud of the work I do.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 18, 2012
Personal injury and medical malpractice attorney Jeffrey M. Goldberg of Jeffrey M. Goldberg Law Offices, P.C. was honored with the “Champion of Justice” award at the Public Justice Foundation’s 30th Anniversary Gala in Chicago, Illinois on July 31, 2012.
Goldberg was honored for his history of beating back attempts to deny plaintiffs their day in court and efforts to limit their damages awards. Jeffrey Goldberg was co-counsel in a 2010 watershed case [Lebron #06 L 12109], in which the Illinois Supreme Court ruled medical malpractice caps were unconstitutional and thus would never be applied to affect the rights of injured citizens. This landmark decision serves to protect the rights of people injured through medical negligence throughout Illinois. The ruling stemmed from the case of a young child who sustained injuries at birth that resulted in cerebral palsy.
“Many of my clients are scared and confused. They are being bullied by insurance companies with teams of expensive lawyers,” said Goldberg. “I work hard to make sure my clients’ best interests are upheld. Receiving the ‘Champion of Justice’ award makes me proud of the work I do.”
Attorney Goldberg is a past president of the Washington, D.C.-based Public Justice Foundation and sponsors a fellowship at Public Justice, enabling the firm to maintain one of the most comprehensive public interest dockets in the country.
The Champion of Justice Award is the Public Justice Foundation’s highest honor.
