Shawn and Jannette Bendinelli, like many, were deeply affected by the Penn State scandal. Despite still feeling proud of their experiences at Penn State, Shawn and Jannette recognized the difficulty of being vocal and public about being Penn State graduates.
Instead of withdrawing, Shawn and Jannette decided to use their company, Evoke Apparel, as a mechanism for a positive response to the scandal. To help ensure that great people, programs and innovations continue to come out of Penn State, every “We Are Still Proud”, T-shirt, hoodie and tank top purchased gives $1 to For the Future, a Penn State scholarship fund. Also, in a spirit of compassion to those directly impacted by the recent scandal and in hopes for a future free from these crimes, an additional $1 from each purchase is donated to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
As Alums and owners of Evoke Apparel Company, Shawn and Jannette want to encourage fellow alumni, current students, and fans of Penn State to show “we are still proud.” They want show the world that Penn State has always been more than the stereotypes used to define the university. Read their blog for more information on why they started this campaign.
