Kimbia Racing – which offers the most powerful and flexible event management and online fundraising platform in the marketplace – today announced that it is providing the online registration and website for IMG Worldwide’s Inaugural Beijing International Triathlon, scheduled for September 16, 2012 in China’s capital city.

This is the second time that IMG Worldwide – one of the leading global sports, fashion and media companies – has tapped Kimbia Racing to handle critical race management functions, signaling an expansion of the relationship between the two firms.
IMG also engaged Kimbia Racing to develop and implement a secure, lottery-based registration system for this year’s Escape from Alcatraz™ Triathlon, among the world’s most prestigious and grueling triathlons, held annually in San Francisco.

The Inaugural Beijing International Triathlon will be the first qualifying event in Asia for Escape from Alcatraz. Race organizers expect it to draw triathletes from all corners of the globe, including many of the most successful international competitors. The top 50 men and women from each group and division in the Beijing race will win coveted slots to compete at Alcatraz in 2013.

“Kimbia Racing clearly was developed and is continually enhanced with event directors in mind,” said Lisa Jenkins, Senior Director of Events at IMG Action Sports, the IMG Worldwide division in charge of the Beijing and Alcatraz triathlons. “The solution enables me to easily leverage technology to maximize my efficiency and deliver a consistently, great experience to registrants, sponsors and other types of participants.”

Jenkins added, “We especially value Kimbia Racing’s ability to provide us with a bilingual website and process international currency – necessities for an event abroad yet things we couldn’t get from all the other race solutions that we evaluated.”

Kimbia Racing also provides IMG and other clients with:

  •     An easy-to-use, highly intuitive user interface. Virtually anyone at an organization can change registration and other Web pages quickly, as developments warrant. “This saves me a lot of time, particularly when I need to get help from an associate – from an event manager to an event coordinator to an intern,” said Jenkins. “In a matter of minutes, I can show him or her how to use the solution, which frees me up to focus on other tasks.”
  •     Complete control over participant data. Registration occurs from beginning to end on the client’s website and the client retains full control over all participant data. It is never used for any purpose such as third-party marketing.
  •     Registration forms that can be embedded by just copying and pasting on a client or event sponsor’s Web pages. Embedded forms keep registrants on the event and sponsor websites throughout the registration process and sustain exposure to the organization’s branding. “This makes participants feel more secure than if they are sent to a third party registration website and it’s also is a great branding benefit for sponsors,” noted Jenkins.
  •     A wide range of real-time, custom data reports. A client can easily pull highly customized reports to track event registration and other progress. Jenkins pointed out that in addition to reports she creates for herself and others at IMG, she can even set up reports tailored for sponsors, corporate teams, charitable beneficiaries and other entities participating in an event.

“We’re thrilled that IMG has asked us to partner on another, high profile race and particularly one that further expands our international footprint,” said Simon Essl, General Manager of Kimbia Racing and also a competitive cyclist with more than a decade-and-a-half of sports-related brand and event marketing experience. “Clients like IMG choose Kimbia Racing because we have removed the technology barriers typical of competitive solutions and we make it a cinch to produce, hands down, the most efficient, well-branded and high value events.”
