Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, announced today that its eText K-20 digital platform has received InformationWeek’s Value Honors 2012 award in the “Best Emerging Technology: Enterprise Mobility” category. The Value Honors awards recognize extraordinary success in the sourcing industry.

Pearson’s eText platform is an easy-to-use resource through which students and teachers have on-demand access to all of their content. Features include search functionality within the eText; an interactive glossary; an image bank of text images, maps and charts; access to websites through links on the page; and the ability to create study notes, use a highlighter, share notes, and bookmark pages.

The new Pearson eText app allows existing subscribers who view eText titles on a computer to access their titles in a bookshelf on the iPad either online or via download, and provides many of the same features available to browser-based users.

“Our eText platform is an innovative, dynamic example of Pearson’s commitment to, and belief in, the transformative power of technology to create more personalized and connected learning experiences,” said Dan Cooper, Senior Vice President, Content Management Services, Pearson. “This award is particularly important to us as it is voted on by industry journalists and professionals, and we value their recognition and support.”

The Value Honors Awards were presented at the InformationWeek Conference on September 10th, 2012 in Monarch Beach, CA.
