Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark® announced today a new integration that enables Picturepark users to easily upload their videos to YouTube, and also leverage the popular video service to reduce the bandwidth costs of streaming video directly from the Cloud.
“Sharing assets to social media platforms is an important part of publishing today,” said David Diamond, Director of Global Marketing for Picturepark. “Picturepark users can now check a box to share videos that include SEO-friendly descriptions, tags, YouTube categories and more. I can’t imagine making this easier than we have.”
Metadata fields inside Picturepark can be used for YouTube’s Title, Description and Tags fields, enabling users to provide the SEO-optimized content they need to make sure their videos are found. Upload and take-down date fields can be used to determine when a video should be posted and later removed. And the video’s embed link can be sent back to Picturepark where it can be used and shared.
Picturepark Publisher customers who have integrated Picturepark into their websites or intranets will appreciate being able to stream video directly from YouTube. When a Picturepark video is previewed via Picturepark Publisher, the video stream can be delivered by YouTube instead of Picturepark. This ensures consistent video streaming performance worldwide, and it can result in significant cost savings for Picturepark Cloud customers.
“Streaming video to thousands of website visitors uses a lot bandwidth,” explained Picturepark Sales Consultant, Olivia Schuett. “YouTube Connector enables our Cloud and onsite customers to take advantage of Picturepark to manage their videos and other media assets, while they leverage the powerful and free streaming services of YouTube to deliver those videos.”
YouTube Connector is available now from Picturepark and Picturepark partners worldwide.
Easy-to-use Picturepark digital asset management software is browser-based to work with all popular desktop and mobile platforms. Picturepark runs in the Cloud (SaaS), onsite or in hybrid configurations.
All rich media formats are supported, with advanced options available for images, video and layouts. Built-ins include workflow approval and collaboration, multi-language metadata and taxonomies, and multi-tenant capabilities. Digital assets are shared and distributed via email links, website portals and portlets, social media, Dropbox and SharePoint. A feature-rich API enables Picturepark partners to create add-ons and integrate Picturepark with other systems.
