Acentia today announced it was named a finalist for the 2012 Contractor of the Year ($75 million to $300 million) at the Greater Washington Government Contractor (GovCon) Awards™ ceremony on 6 September. The award, sponsored by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Professional Services Council and Washington Technology, is one of the region’s highest honors within the government contracting industry.

Acentia and other finalists were recognized for distinguished financial and operational accomplishments and outstanding contributions to employees, the government contracting industry, and the U.S. government in the past year. Acentia was evaluated on factors such as customer testimonials, quality of work life, and community and service leadership. The winner will be announced at the 10th Anniversary Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards gala in Washington, DC on November 1, 2012 at Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC. The gala, often referred to as the “academy awards of government contracting,” honors the leadership, innovation and commitment to excellence of the people and businesses in the Washington Metropolitan Area's government contracting community. Finalists and winners are chosen by a panel of industry leaders.

“We are very pleased to be selected as a finalist for a premier award as one of the region’s top companies,” said Todd Stottlemyer, Acentia CEO. “This recognition is particularly gratifying because it validates our commitment to leadership in providing essential mission-critical services to our customers.”
