Ace Canopy will join Tarps Plus for annual holiday 2012 Los Angeles Tarp Drive for homeless. Winters have been a really hard time for the homeless. There have been scores of fatalities. Its management was touched by this and decided to give back to the community. It started a drive to issue vinyl canopies to the disadvantaged and it has been doing this for years.
This year it has formed an alliance with Ace Canopy. This will make the mission a much greater success as the new member of the drives plans to pull resources in. In additional, the management has decided to issue out tents and canopies. Tarps deal in manufacture and sale of vinyl tarps. Also in its line of products there is also a collection of canvas products. Ace canopy deals in a variety of in-house and outdoor tents.
Tarps Plus has been donating thousands of tarps to the Los Angeles homeless for several years. Tarps Plus CEO Michael Stein stated, “The tarp drive is our favorite event of the year. We plan on giving out over two thousand tarps to the L.A. homeless.”
The vinyl and polyvinyl products are used for covering against extremes of weather conditions such as intense snow. Los Angeles can get surprisingly cold in the winter months and the tarps help with keeping people dry and prevent hyperthermia. Tents protect people from a wide range of natural disasters. They could protect against wind, rain, storms and also snow. Therefore, the homeless could find them handy.
As the companies goes to help the lesser of the society, the management was quoted saying that the mission should go on for quite some time. First, they head south to issue the canopies and the tent. And then go on across the country visiting the various cities. Then this will be capped by a major thanksgiving in the year end.
The corporate world should emulate the two companies and form strategic alliances in various industries to reach out to the society. There should be more than just making profits, as one of the its directors once said. It should be a give and take situation. The businesses should generate revenue and then save some few pennies for the good of the community.
