The Bonnie A.C. Lee Fang Foundation, a non-profit committed to providing financial assistance to nursing students pursuing a career in patient care is hosting an annual scholarship dinner and award ceremony. Established in 2002, the foundation honors several students each year who show excellence in compassionate health care. The foundation was established by the daughters of Bonnie A.C. Lee Fang to continue their mother’s legacy to giving to the community. "The dream of higher education in the field of nursing is just that for many students who face financial difficulty -- particularly with the State of California budget cuts and increased university fees. The financial support offered by the Bonnie A.C. Lee Fang Foundation provides the opportunity for deserving students to reach extraordinary heights academically and professionally. It is encouraging for our nursing students to know that the community has a vested interest in their success," says Dr. Courtney Lyder, Dean of UCLA's School of Nursing.

The semi-formal event will be held at the Almansor Court in Alhambra, California from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The annual event will include a wine reception, “Minute to Win It” games with prices, silent auction, buffet dinner and an awards ceremony. The event is a critical focus of the foundation in order to raise scholarship money. Marilyn M. Herrmann, PhD, RN Dean, School of Nursing from Loma Linda University states "The Bonnie A.C. Fang Foundation has supported Loma Linda University School of Nursing for the past decade by giving scholarships to our students. These students are now graduates and some of them have embarked on a teaching career, others are in graduate school pursuing advanced degrees, while others are working in various areas of clinical nursing practice. The Foundation assisted them at a time when they needed special financial help and thus the Bonnie A.C. Fang Foundation has shared in shaping the future of nursing practice, education and research. The School has been greatly blessed to be able to offer these scholarships to students."
