Topic of Discussion: “Everything you know about e-discovery that’s wrong: The three-dimensional perspective from firms, clients and providers.”

We believe that advanced technologies promise clients a cost effective, consistent and potentially even more accurate analysis.

Brandon Daniels, President of Managed Services at Clutch Group, will take part in an exclusive e-discovery webcast on September 12th, 2012 from 1-2pm EST. The event will be presented by LexisNexis in association with Adam Smith, Esq.

The webcast is entitled: “Everything you know about e-discovery that’s wrong: The three dimensional perspective from firms, clients and providers.” Bruce MacEwen, President of Adam Smith, Esq., will moderate the event and, in addition to Mr. Daniels, the other panelists include: Andrew M. Cohen, Esq., Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at EMC Corporation, and Thomas J. Smith, Partner at K&L Gates.

“To many, e-discovery has become a bludgeon in litigation that is used by a party with deep pockets or by technology gurus to beat an opponent into submission,” said Mr. MacEwen. “But e-discovery doesn’t always have to be that bludgeon. By using e-discovery tools, one can perhaps find an answer to the ultimate question: “Will we win this case?”

The panel is expected to discuss how to build a thoughtful discovery plan, how to stick to a budget during the bargaining process, how to rapidly and cost-effectively “triage” documents into relevant, privileged and discoverable, and where the debate stands now on predictive coding and “technology assisted review.”

“As an industry we need to realize that the utilization of technology is not a binary decision. Segmenting your matters according to the impact of the discovery process within your matter, the value of fact development, and the efficacy of the technology within your data should dictate your process, not generalizations about common tools or products, “ said Mr. Daniels. “We believe that advanced technologies promise clients a cost effective, consistent and potentially even more accurate analysis. This is an important topic and I’m honored to be part of the discussion.”
