The Greater Cincinnati Health Council is hosting a social media seminar on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 8 a.m.
The seminar, “Social Media: Harness Its Power To Work For You,” includes speakers from both the social media and legal industries.
“Social media is here to stay as a major means of communication,” says Barbara Banks RD, LD, Director, Member Services for the Greater Cincinnati Health Council. “Through this program, attendees will learn how to control the message from and about their organizations as well as their legal rights and obligations regarding social media in the work place.”
Steve Phillips and Emily Terbrueggen, from Purple Trout, LLC, will discuss an overview of social media; preferences and privacy in social media; tactics and strategies, and reputation management.
Lisa Amend and Sara Simrall Rorer, attorneys at Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP will present patient privacy (HIPAA) related legal risks and the human resource implications of social media.
The overall course objectives for the seminar include:
- Explaining the different types and purposes of social media and how to set up an account.
- Describing how to use social media to coordinate events and promote your business.
- Discussing tactics, strategies and reputation management.
- Identifying patient privacy (HIPAA) related legal risks.
- Listing human resource policies and procedures to help minimize risks.
This program has been approved for three (3) CEU’s through BENHA (#160-C-12) for licensed nursing home administrators and nurses.
Registration is required by Monday, September 17, 2012.
The registration fee for Greater Cincinnati Health Council members is $30, while non-members may register for $60.
