Assured Automation's V-Port Ball Valves More Cost Effective than Globe Valves

The low initial cost of the V-Port Ball Valve package compared to globe valves is very attractive to flavor manufacturers.

Flavor manufacturers which need to control reactor temperatures find they can eliminate the high cost of globe control valves by using V-Port Ball Valves purchased from Assured Automation. One of the problems facing flavor manufacturing is the high initial cost of Globe control valves as well as their high maintenance cost. Plant maintnenace find that their globe control valves often need to be returned to the manufacturer for maintenance which too often results in long periods of reactor shut down and subsequent revenue loss.

To help reduce manufacturing costs, Assured Automation introduced the V Series V-Port ball valve line of control valves. "The low initial cost of the V-Port Ball Valve package compared to globe valves was very attractive to our flavor manufacturers," reports Mike O'Neill of Assured Automation. "The ease of maintenance sold the plant engineers on the package," he adds. Plant maintenance can easily replace the slotted ball valve seats. Actuators and positioners are readily removed with 4 bolts. “Plant maintenance was confident they could easily troubleshoot problems with this valve package, their reactor could be up and running in a matter of minutes, not days,” O’Neill reports.

Maintenance engineers installing the V Series V slotted ball valves have been impressed with the control they achieved. The engineers’ experience with Assured Automation’s V-Port Ball Valve package found the valves as easy to maintain as any automated ball valve. Given this significant improvement in the manufacturing process, flavor manufacturers are standardizing on the V Series for all their reactor control applications.

To streamline the conversion process, manufacturers can purchase the V-Port Ball Valves online through Assured Automation’s world-class Configurator.

V Series V-Port 2-Way Control Valve

The V Series V-Port Ball Valve provides accurate control of down-steam flow rates, from simple on-off to modulation control applications. The throttling part of the valve is a solid stainless steel ball, not a seat insert like others. The unique V Series ball design is forgiving, accommodating, and characterized to meet all custom flow requirements.
