Speed up or slow down playback rate of HTML5 videos while retaining sound quality

August 30, 2012 – Enounce™ Incorporated (http://www.enounce.com), the preeminent provider of variable speed playback technologies, today announced it has released a new version of its popular MySpeed™ program, giving users the ability to change the speed of HTML5 and Flash video without compromising comprehension or sound quality.

Enounce MySpeed is the first solution to allow users to speed up or slow down the playback rate of Flash-formatted and HTML5 videos without any “chipmunk” quality to the sound. Enounce’s patented solution can be used to speed through audio and video without skipping content. Users can change the playback speed of videos they watch on YouTube, CNN, NBC, ABC, ESPN and other websites, as well as corporate training, educational courses and seminars, and other online video material. The easy-to-use MySpeed slider bar appears on a user’s desktop and allows real-time speed changes whenever a video is playing in a web-browser or standalone player. A free seven-day trial lets consumers try before they buy.

MySpeed benefits users by allowing them to:

  •     Speed up videos to save time, or watch more material in less time
  •     Slow down videos to learn or take notes
  •     Increase learning with greater comprehension and less frustration.

In addition, Enounce MySpeed 5 for Windows also includes:

  •     Speeding up or slowing down Hulu and Google Voice
  •     Controlling the playback speed in YouTube’s new HTML5 player
  •     Toggling between normal and the last speed used, particularly useful for skimming content and skipping ads
  •     Keeping track of how much time is saved using MySpeed.

“HTML5 is one of the most significant steps forward online video has seen in a long time,” states Don Hejna, CEO of Enounce. “Consumers need to be able to control the playback speed of both Flash and HTML5 videos to save time and improve comprehension. Anyone who watches online video will benefit greatly from the new version.”

A 7-day trial of MySpeed can be downloaded in seconds at: http://www.enounce.com. MySpeed 5 for Windows is currently available for $29.99. For the next 30 days, existing customers can upgrade for a discounted rate of $14.99. MySpeed for Mac with HTML5 support will be available shortly. Support, updates and bug fixes for MySpeed v3 for Windows will be phased out in early 2013.
