CareSource, a Medicaid managed care company, has been awarded accreditation by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to transforming health care quality through measurement, transparency and accountability. They consistently raise the bar in health care demanding quality and improvement.
“This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to quality and accountability and is a driving factor of our focus on our mission - to serve others by improving their health care,” said Pamela Morris, President and CEO. “Our team has worked very hard for more than two years to achieve this accreditation and we are extremely proud.”
Ohio, like other states, has put an increased focus on NCQA accreditation to ensure all Medicaid plans are ranked on a standard of quality and health outcomes. NCQA has also helped to build consensus around important health care quality issues by working with large employers, policymakers, doctors, patients and health plans to decide what’s important and how to measure it. Their commitment to comprehensive research and dedication to quality has helped improve the managed care experience for health plans, patients, and care providers.
CareSource pursued NCQA accreditation in addition to maintaining its URAC accreditation for health plans and health call centers. CareSource has been fully accredited by URAC since 2005.
