It is vital for young women to recognize the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and be their own best health advocates in order to save lives.

Miss USA Olivia Culpo is a lot of things in life – beauty pageant winner, Dean’s List student at Boston University, a talented cellist who performed with the Boston Accompanietta – but one thing she’s probably never been called is biker babe – until now. All of that is about to change as Culpo joins biker group Dangerous Curvez for the Ride to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer, a motorcycle ride for a great cause to benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and aid in its efforts to raise awareness and education about ovarian cancer.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 16, 2012 – rain or shine – at the Tramontin Harley Davidson store in Hope, NJ. Riders will enjoy a fully-escorted scenic 60 plus mile group ride through Warren and Sussex Counties and the run ends back at the Tramontin Harley Davidson. Registration for the event begins at 9:30 am and kickstands go up at 11:00 am. Each rider contributes a donation of $20, or $15 per passenger or non-riding participants. Everyone will enjoy food, music, vendors, prizes and more.

Miss USA Olivia Culpo will be joining the festivities that morning bringing attention to this important cause. She will also be signing autographs and taking photographs with attendees and ovarian cancer survivors.

During her reign, Culpo will serve as a spokesperson for breast and ovarian cancer and will work closely with organizations such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, and Gilda’s Club. She will also work with the USO as part of the Miss Universe Organization’s dedication to supporting our troops.

“We are thrilled to have Miss USA here to support this wonderful event,” says Kelly Mellott, Communications and Social Media Strategist for National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. “It is vital for young women to recognize the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and be their own best health advocates in order to save lives. Olivia is dedicated to spreading that message during her reign as Miss USA and it’s so important to lend her voice to this cause.”

There will be no charge for autographs from Culpo at the event and the first 50 registered riders will receive commemorative pins. All net proceeds from the event benefit National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. For more information about this event or registration for the event, please visit http://dangerouscurvz.com/.
