Lutheran Homes Of South Carolina and the Heritage at Lowman Announce the BeWell Alzheimer's Caregiver Series

During the month of September, Lutheran Homes of South Carolina will be hosting a Thursday evening Alzheimer's Caregiver Series at the Heritage at Lowman, one of their continuing care communities in Chapin, S.C. The series will feature three separate evenings of presentations, dinner and support for family caregivers.

Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, a trusted provider of comprehensive home care and services for senior adults, recently announced an upcoming Alzheimer's caregiver series at the Heritage at Lowman. The BeWell Alzheimer's Caregiver Series is a free informative and supportive program for caregivers taking care of loved ones with Alzheimer's or a related memory disorder condition. On September 13th, 20th and 27th from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m., family caregivers will enjoy a complimentary dinner and program.

"At the Heritage, we understand that caring for persons with Alzheimers or related memory concerns can be stressful," said Rebecca Shurtz of the Heritage at Lowman. "Our caregiver series provides the perfect opportunity for family caregivers to receive support and understanding."

On September 13th, the topic for the evening will be about VA Benefits. Aaron Cantley, a VA Accredited Representative from Retirement Benefits Consultants will be the guest speaker. On September 20th, Melissa Yetter, the Executive Director at the Heritage at Lowman will present, "Medicaid and Medicare: There is a Difference!" The series will conclude with a final session on September 27th with a presentation by Attorney Amy Landers, "Cutting Through the Red Tape--Legal Challenges Facing Seniors."

Each evening also offers support, encouragement and discussion with other caregivers over dinner. The series will be held at the Heritage at Lowman Wellness Center at 2101 Dutch Fork Roa in Chapin, S.C.
