The covert operations of an elite operative and his capable cohorts working to save America and Israel from enemy forces are chronicled in Patrick E. Thomas’ timely new novel, “Cobra Strike” (published by iUniverse).

Reminiscent of the works of Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn and Brad Thor, “Cobra Strike” tells the story of elite operative Zakkova Ikanovich and his series of covert operations to rid the world of terrorists, drug lords and enemy heads of state that are hostile to the U.S.

Zakkova was a retired Navy SEAL when the president personally contacted him to take on full black operations against enemies of the U.S. and Israel. His story takes inspiration from real-life current events and offers a welcome commentary on political, social and global issues.

An excerpt from “Cobra Strike”:

Look, Zakkova, we have a proposal for you that I think you might find to your liking. You know as well as anyone the threats we face in this world. We have the Islamic fascist terrorists who want to kill us all, the Iranians who are developing nuclear weapons and have vowed to wipe Israel off the map, Mexican drug cartels that are invading our southern borders and bringing violence and narcotics with them, Bashar al-Assad who’s slaughtering his own people and providing weapons to Hezbollah and Hamas who are using those weapons to attack Israel and our intel says Syria is even supplying biological and chemical weapons to Hezbollah, and numerous insane heads of state that are creating an unstable world. We in this room are bound by our duties to make this nation safe from all of those ills. Over your career you have removed many threats that were hostile to the United States. For that we are internally grateful. But as you also know these remaining threats are getting larger and more aggressive in their stance. We could overtly or covertly deal with these threats but for geopolitical reasons we can’t take action against them. That’s where you come in. We would like to hire you and men of your choosing to eliminate these threats. If you do it as a private citizen, we could claim plausible deniability and keep our hands clean. How does this sound to you so far Zakkova?” asked the president.
