Survalent Technology Commissions New SCADA System for Escambia River Electric Cooperative

Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Escambia River Electric Cooperative (EREC).

EREC was founded in 1939 to bring affordable electric power to the residents of northern Escambia County and Santa Rosa County, Florida. EREC is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Jay, Florida, with an additional office in Walnut Hill, Florida. They are a member of the Texas Public Power Association (TPPA).

The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Worldview, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequencing, IED Wizard, SCADA Replicator, and WebSurv.

“Survalent is pleased to have Escambia River Electric Cooperative join our growing family of customers,” states Steve Strauss, Vice President of Sales for the Eastern United States. “Escambia River is using Survalent’s smart grid applications in their deployment of SCADA. They will also be using our advanced web technology to increase the value of SCADA to their organization.”
