We’re looking forward to a high-energy training and networking event next month in Chicago.

In another sign that the U.S. economy may be improving, more recruiters in a national network are attending its annual conference.
According to figures recently released by Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms, attendance for the Network’s upcoming 2012 Fall Conference is nearly 30% higher than its 2012 National Convention. The latter was held at the end of April.
According to Top Echelon Network Membership Development Coordinator Drea Codispoti, the attendance figures for the conference have outpaced expectations.
“We expected there to be more recruiters attending the Fall Conference than the National Convention, but we thought perhaps the increase would be 10% to 15%,” said Codispoti. “We didn’t anticipate that there would be this many recruiters registered at this point.”
The 2012 Top Echelon Network Fall Conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 11, and Friday, October 12, at the Sheraton Chicago O’Hare in Chicago, Ill.
“There’s still a full month before the conference,” added Codispoti. “There’s plenty of time for attendance to climb even more.”
The official slogan for the 2012 Fall Conference is “Two Days: A Year’s Worth of Talent Sourcing Solutions.” The main speaker for the event is Shally Steckerl, a talent acquisition consultant and strategist for the recruiting and staffing industry.
According to Top Echelon Network President Mark Demaree, the increased attendance is a good sign for not only the financial health of recruiters, but also for the improvement of the economy in general.
“Recruiters in Top Echelon Network recognize the value of attending events like our Fall Conference,” said Demaree. “However, they also calculate closely the costs associated with attending such events. They carefully evaluate whether or not they can afford to be out of the office for two days and whether or not they can afford to pay for things like airfare and a hotel stay.
“This increase in attendance tells me that Network members are doing quite well on their recruiting desks and they have money to spend on a conference that they believe will provide them with a healthy return on their investment. We’re looking forward to a high-energy training and networking event next month in Chicago.”
Top Echelon Network was founded in 1988 in Canton, Ohio.
