The U.S. News & World Report 2013 of America’s Best Colleges places Oklahoma Wesleyan University in the top ten, Best in the West, for Regional Colleges.

This is the tenth year in a row that OKWU has ranked in the top ten for this report.

President, Everett Piper comments, “Year after year, OKWU continues to be ranked in the top tier. We are humbled by such recognition and thankful for God’s grace as we continue to stand strong and unapologetic for Christian higher education.”

U. S. News & World Reports defines a baccalaureate college as one that focuses “primarily on undergraduate education, just as the liberal arts colleges do, but grant fewer than 50 percent of their degrees in liberal arts disciplines. At these schools, at least 10 percent of undergraduate degrees awarded are bachelor’s degrees.

U.S. News & World Report, along with this classification system, considers peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving in their ranking.

There are 319 baccalaureate colleges, ranked within four regions: North, South, Midwest, and West. The western region includes Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii and Alaska.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University is a recognized educational leader in the state of Oklahoma and beyond. OKWU has received national recognition from U.S. News and World Report, Forbes.com, and CBSNews MoneyWatch both for its excellent academic reputation as well as its missional integrity.
