Company Expanding to Retail Shops Nationwide

We want our bikes to be accessible to anyone who has an interest in cycling

City bike company Brooklyn Cruiser today announced the release of a seven speed model into its lineup at Interbike, the largest bicycle gathering in the country. The new model will include multiple frame sizes in addition to the seven speed internal hub. The company designed the new frames with the assistance of cycling industry legend Grant Petersen, who recently joined the company’s board of advisors.

Along with the introduction of the new model, the company is excited to be expanding its retail network to offer Brooklyn Cruiser at shops nationwide. Launched in 2011, Brooklyn Cruiser initially offered bikes at retail shops in the New York market to gauge the interest in the brand among urban bikers. With a firm belief that New Yorkers have very high expectations, they knew if the bikes sold well in New York, then other bike friendly cities would soon follow. For the nationwide expansion, Brooklyn Cruiser identified the most bike friendly urban areas and started reaching out to retail outlets in those markets.

“We want our bikes to be accessible to anyone who has an interest in cycling. With the introduction of a seven speed model into our portfolio, we have made a few modest changes that will increase the accessibility of our bikes in terms of sizing and geographic availability,” said Brooklyn Cruiser founder Ryan Zagata. “We founded this company with a goal to design stylish, yet functional and easy-to-ride bikes. We will continue on that path with each new model we introduce,” he added.
