In an article posted by the Telegraph, a report shared how five victims were killed in a German hostage situation. Among those shot dead was the gunman himself, who was presumed to have shot himself after killing four hostages. In line with this, a 30 year State Police SWAT veteran Jim Volant showcases an exciting book titled “Hostage in Houghton” which creatively illustrates how the authorities take control of a violent and potentially deadly situation.

In this book, readers will encounter Jack who is diagnosed with a mental disorder. Jack believes that he had been kidnapped by aliens and he had discovered their plan to take over the world. Since no one in their right mind would want to believe him, he comes up with his own version of a “brilliant” plan. To gain attention, he decides to rob a bank in his own local town in Houghton, Michigan. During the robbery, he takes a hostage and places a bomb on her. He then attempts to flee in a get-away car, but the authorities had managed to immobilize his vehicle.

With the assistance of his Special Weapons and Tactics, SWAT, team, a Viet Nam veteran Volare organizes an ultimate take-down scheme. With some of the best and experienced league of law-enforcers, the rescue operations unfold in this suspense-thrilling crime drama that will keep readers hanging at the edges of their seats. Based on the author’s personal experiences on actual police/ SWAT team calls, this book paints a realistic image of how the police force operate in such perilous and extreme situations.
