In his novel “The Search for the Perfect Whore: A Romp through the Dominican Republic” (published by iUniverse), Raymond Archer takes readers on a one-of-a-kind exploration of the Dominican Republic.
“The Search for the Perfect Whore” is the story of the adventures of Raymond Archer – the main character who shares the same name as the author – as he searches for the perfect lifestyle and the perfect woman in the Dominican Republic. Archer knows he should be back at his home in Cincinnati, but his endless quest for sex and drink keeps him in Puerto Plata. Along this quest, Archer learns many lessons about the history, geography and customs of the region, particularly with regard to romantic encounters.
An excerpt from “The Search for the Perfect Whore”:
“It was too early for me to really do anything, but there were some nice-looking women out on the street. It was kind of comparative shopping where you say, “I’ll check you out later…let me look at the other merchandise…but don’t go away.” You knew they weren’t going away. Well, probably not. People pretty much stayed where they were, though occasionally, they went to Santo Domingo or Santiago. I did meet one girl who had not been out of Puerto Plata her entire life, not even to Sosúa which was only 12 miles away.”
Archer hopes readers enjoy his unique story and his view on the culture and everyday life of the of the Dominican Republic. “‘The Search for the Perfect Whore’ shows a different way of life and provides a new perspective about government, social life, sex and love,” he says. “There is no other book like it.”
