James (Jim) Walker has joined HNTB as the design-build director for HNTB Architecture. Walker brings 30 years of design and construction experience; more than 20 of those with alternative delivery projects.

HNTB delivers design-build services in partnership with construction contractors on complex infrastructure and buildings projects. HNTB assists with the adoption of technology and risk management tools to address institutional, cultural, political and more traditional technical risks. HNTB’s current roster of design-build projects includes the new San Francisco 49ers Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.; the San Diego Airport West Terminal Addition in San Diego, Calif.; the National Security Campus in Kansas City, Mo.; the Von Braun Complex-Phase IV Missile Defense Agency Administrative Building at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala.; and the Camp Lejeune Battalion Complex at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Walker has presented nationally and internationally on project delivery at conferences for the Design-Build Institute of America and the Project Management Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management and a master’s degree in business administration. Walker will be based in the firm’s Kansas City, Mo. office and work with clients across the country.
