The iconography and terminology of tattooing is almost its own visual language. It’s every bit as rich and complex as the languages that Verbal Ink translates.
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) September 17, 2012
Verbal Ink, an industry leader in online transcription services since 2003, has announced the launch of the Verbal Ink Tattoo Translation Sweepstakes. The announcement follows Verbal Ink’s recent unveiling of translation services support for over twenty different languages. One lucky participant in the sweepstakes will be selected at random to receive a $500 Amazon gift card; Verbal Ink will also donate $500 to the charity of the winner’s choice.
“We’ve got a slightly unusual name, and every once in a while, we get calls from people that think we’re a tattoo parlor,” said JR Wurster, founder and CEO of Verbal Ink. “So when we were brainstorming different ways of letting people know about our new translation services, we thought it would be really fun to build on that.” Added Wurster, “The iconography and terminology of tattooing is almost its own visual language. It’s every bit as rich and complex as the languages that Verbal Ink translates.”
To enter the sweepstakes, participants must complete a brief survey, in which they will be asked to translate foreign language tattoos into English or identify the specific languages in which those tattoos are inked. The sweepstakes and its rules are located at http://verbalink.com/articles/tattoo-translation. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM PDT on Sunday, September 30th, 2012. The sweepstakes winner, and the correct answers to the survey, will be posted on Verbal Ink’s website during the first week of October.
