Riverside, CA (PRWEB) September 14, 2012
“Fun by Day, Fright by Night” is Castle Park’s theme during October as the park converts into Castle Dark! Kids can enjoy spooky fun activities during the day and for the older crowd, the real terror begins at 7 p.m. each operating night. Castle Dark offers two very different Halloween experiences for one gate price.
As part of the “Fun by Day,” Castle Park hosts “Trick or Treat Street”- a time for children under 12 years old to trick or treat in a safe environment and take some fun pictures. The park also hosts a costume contest for kids and a pumpkin carving contest. Guests can win a whole year of fun with an Annual Pass or Miniature Golf passes just by having the best costume or most creative pumpkin carving.
This year the Fright by Night evening event will introduce a brand new haunted maze, Shiverside, which is set to be the largest maze in park history at over 2,000 square feet of scare. Shiverside maze takes you on a journey down Main Street, where evil shopkeepers and creepy citizens abide. There’s the Motel Hell, where you check in but you may never check out and, for those with extreme appetites will find the Shiverside Chili Shack and the Chainsaw Kitchen open to serve you some interesting cuisine! For the dearly departed (or soon to be departed), we have the Morgue and Slasher Family Mortuary along with several more interesting shops to explore – if you dare!
In addition to the new maze, Castle Dark also features two other haunted mazes, CarnEVIL and Insanity. For those looking for a less intense Halloween thrill, Castle Park adds some spook to a few of it’s rides, such as the Bog Ride, Bump in the Night Cars, the Scary-Go-Round, and the Spooky Town Train and Car rides.
Castle Dark festivities will run Oct. 5-6, Oct. 12-14, Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 26-28. On Fridays Castle Park will be open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays will be open 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays will be open 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. The price for Fun by Day, Fright by Night is just $24.99 per person, good all day (and into the night) for all the Halloween activities, unlimited rides, and much more – plus you’ll get a 3 month free pass to come back again and again! Visit CastlePark.com for all the details.
The “Fright by Night” portion of Castle Dark begins each operating night at 7 p.m. and the park strongly cautions that this time may be inappropriate for children under 12 years old.
