International Surgical Mission Support (ISMS) is grateful for the support of Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi, co-founders of No More Poverty. ISMS is a not-for-profit organization that provides free medical care for those in need in poor countries and trains local medical professionals. ISMS teams, often with surgical and other medical specialties, travel around the world ministering in countries such as Vietnam, Peru, Nepal, Zambia, India, Egypt, and many more.

“Our teams are international ambassadors of compassionate care to people living in truly destitute areas of this world,” says Dr. Medhat Allam, Chairman of International Surgical Mission Support. “The support of No More Poverty and it co-founders Michael Omidi, MD and Julian Omidi will enable us to help more people, healing the sick and giving hope to the hopeless.”

The organization seeks to end poverty at home and abroad by supporting the efforts of like-minded charities and agencies. About ISMS
International Surgical Mission Support began in 1996 when three friends with surgical training decided to use their skills and training to help the people of Haiti. The small team successfully performed 40 operations in one week within challenging conditions and thus began a fruitful, long-term partnership. The seeds of compassion were planted and have grown into the organization known as ISMS. Over time the circle of friends has grown larger as more medical professionals joined and the expertise of the organization expanded. Today, ISMS employs many specialized teams including pediatric medicine and vision services.

ISMS teams include doctors, nurses, and other health professionals who provide free medical care and surgeries for the needy. Bridging the ethnic, political, and religious differences, the teams help improve and save the lives of those who feel forgotten. Groups travel with the equipment and supplies to set up four fully functional operating rooms, a recovery room, and a pharmacy anywhere in the world within hours of arrival.
