As part of this initiative, we’ve redesigned our website to include school listings that are searchable by zip code, and have also created dedicated pages for each state.

In response to a growing shortage of certified nursing assistants throughout the country, CNAClasses-Online.net this week introduced new CNA training course listings for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“It is our hope that, by placing a greater focus on CNA classes offered at traditional brick-and-mortar campuses, in addition to the online courses we typically feature, we will make it easier for students to find accredited training programs in their area,” said spokesperson Carley Savoy. She continued on to say, “As part of this initiative, we’ve redesigned our website to include school listings that are searchable by zip code, and have also created dedicated pages for each state. We’re pleased with the results thus far, and believe that visitors to our site will be too.”

The online education site decided to broaden its focus after reviewing recent government data, and news reports, on how the nation’s nursing shortage is crippling health care facilities in certain cities and states. Most worrisome to the site’s staff was the extent to which this shortage is being felt by assisted living communities and home health care providers – areas that traditionally rely upon certified nursing assistants.

According to Savoy, “In many ways, CNAs are the life blood of nursing homes and other facilities that care for the elderly. With such a large percentage of the population becoming seniors at the same time, this projected shortfall of qualified nursing assistants presents the potential to seriously diminish our ability to provide quality care to these individuals.”

Because educational requirements to become a CNA are significantly less than those for other types of nurses, it is the belief of Savoy and her colleagues that increasing public awareness of local schools that offer certification programs should be a priority. It is their contention that many young people would be interested in the career path if they were better informed, and had the opportunity to visit one of the schools in their area.
