As we continue to serve our military and expat clients with the same diligence and care, we look forward to the new business brought in by the cutting edge and accelerating smart city movement happening in this country.

As mega-solar, wind and other city-revitalization projects come on line, with full initiation expected around April 2013, Phoenix Transport (Japan) Ltd., Managing Director Martin Giles is preparing his team for quick response.

“Our company was privately owned for about 25 years and thanks to the legacy of our Japanese owners and our strong client base in Japan, we have the perfect foundation to accept what we expect to be a significant inflow of traffic over the next 8 months. As we continue to serve our military and expat clients with the same diligence and care, we look forward to the new business brought in by the cutting edge and accelerating smart city movement happening in this country.”

With Japanese public opinion leaning against nuclear as weekly anti-nuclear protests in Tokyo draw the largest number of participants since University based protests in the 60s, it is clear Japan is on a new path towards clean, renewable and environmentally friendly energy resources.

There are several world class, cutting edge renewable energy projects in the pipeline over various parts of Japan. Much of this technology is Japan-made, but significant expertise will inevitably be sourced from global companies. This trend will bring many new companies to Japan with expertise in IT, construction, real estate, energy, infrastructure and more. This, in turn, will increase the traffic in terms of transport between Japan and the world and Phoenix wants to be right at the front door to provide a warm welcome.

Phoenix recently began working closely with H&R Group (handling all aspects of personnel relocation) so they are now even better able to serve as the initial contact for moving, transport, relocation, housing and car-lease issues involving Japan.

Giles continues, “Over the past few months we have brought on Ruth Jarman Shiraishi of Jarman International KK and Steve Burson of H&R Group to create a unrivaled support network for companies coming to Japan who require bi-lingual, friendly, careful and cost effective assistance with their transport and moving challenge.

Since the triple disaster of earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power plant on March 11, 2010, Japan grappled with the challenge of a sudden reduction in nuclear-based energy resources and as a result, have begun earnest activity in terms of other renewable energy projects. Japan is set to experience a virtual renaissance of energy technology over the next months and years and companies joining this effort will require speed, expertise, perfect English support and the efficient administrative handling required in large and intricate moves.

“We have recently updated our logo to give it a beautiful Green and Japan- centered look as I myself am from Australia and deeply admire and appreciate what Japan is aiming at in terms of renewable energy. We also have a new website up and are continuously tweaking the content to keep it as user-friendly and resource-rich as possible,” adds Giles.

With Smart City Week 2012 in Yokohama, Japan just ahead in late October, a mega solar project picking up speed in Okayama and other wind technology projects underway, Japan is on course to take the lead in how a nation can unify towards the green dream and effect the change to make modern living more sustainable and eco-friendly.
