Richard Hagedorn attended advanced infantry training at Camp Pendleton and graduated best in class. His first duty station was in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Force. He was stationed there for 10 months and was promoted to Lance Corporal before being assigned to the 1st Marines in Viet Nam along with the rest of his battalion. Readers will witness a firsthand experience of the Vietnam War in A Brief Moment in Time: A True Story.

In 1968, Hagedorn and his men prayed the hardest because they knew they had very little chance of survival before the day ended. The war in Vietnam was still at its heights and the American soldiers did what they had to do and served their country with their lives. Only a few were left alive, and the author was one of them. Now he shares A Brief Moment in Time as a chronicle of the times that were—those that changed his life forever.

From thrilling action scenes, amputated limbs, land mines, bloodsucking leeches in swamps, to snipers, air attacks, heat strokes, even spirituality, camaraderie, friendship, hope, and faith, A Brief Moment in Time is a tribute to the brave lives that have served their country during the war.
