In an article posted by MailOnline, it has been revealed that the amount of training for female recruits in the navy have been revised due to a number of training injury reports. This only goes to show how joining the military is not at all an easy feat especially for women. Nevertheless, for one woman named Danielle Clift, joining the navy had indeed transformed her life for the better. She shares her fascinating success story in her book “How I Became Me.”
Raised by a single mother, Clift and her sister had gone through a difficult life early on. Watching their mother struggle to make both ends meet, they had to endure transferring from one home to another. Constantly experiencing abuse from men, Clift had gone through painful torments, beginning with her drug-addicted absentee father, to her mother’s criminal boyfriend, and all the way into the horrific encounter with a kidnapper and rapist.
This book also reveals her delinquent days and how she had been arrested several times and locked up in a juvenile detention center. Despite living a roller-coaster life, Clift still was able to turn her fate around when she joined the U.S. Navy. It was not an easy route, however, turning over a new leaf eventually paid off. Readers will be amazed at how she was able to get from point A to point B in spite of the experiences she went through.
A beacon of inspiration to all those who think that they are limited by their circumstances and the things that have happened to them in the past, How I Became Me is a groundbreaking literary work that will indeed transform millions of lives.
