Style buffs can celebrate London Fashion Week 2012 in style by heading to Mayfair and Belgravia this month.
Mayfair and Belgravia, the central London destinations for luxury shopping are managed by Grosvenor, and are famous for fashion and glamour.
Stylish Mayfair and Belgravia are a world away from the Oxford Street rush: so fashion fans can relax and enjoy a quieter pace of life, and bag beautiful clothes from unique boutiques and designer shops.
London Fashion Week takes place between Friday September 14 and Tuesday September 18. London Fashion Weekend, a complementary event, runs from Thursday September 20 to Sunday September 23.
One of the most famous five-star hotels in Mayfair and Belgravia during London Fashion Week is celebrating the events with special fashion-focused promotions.
The May Fair Hotel, in Stratton Street, Mayfair, is the official hotel of London Fashion Week, and has pulled out all the stops to give guests and visitors a stylishly good time.
The May Fair Bar will serve a collection of cocktails designed by London Fashion Week designers, until Sunday September 23. Highlights include The Olivia Rubin, a vodka and lychee juice concoction with edible purple pansies, and a pair of tipples created by the Antoni & Alison design duo.
Those looking to relax after a long day at the fashion show can book themselves into The May Fair Hotel Spa, which is offering two exclusive treatments in celebration of London Fashion Week: the Murad Runway Ready Facial and the Catwalk Wrap.
Another hotel that’s sure to be popular during the fashion event is The Berkeley, Wilton Place.
The hotel’s famous Prêt-à-Portea afternoon tea is inspired by the fashion world, and its constantly evolving colours and themes.
The Spring/Summer 2012 collection features a selection of top-quality teas, as well as cakes and pastries that pay tribute to designers such as Jason Wu and Dolce & Gabbana.
The chic snacks are served every day in the hotel’s Caramel Room, from 1pm till 6pm.
Between Fashion Week events, style-conscious shopaholics can treat themselves to a stroll around some of London’s most exclusive shopping streets.
In Mayfair, Mount Street is home to big-name designers such as Marc Jacobs, Jenny Packham and Christian Louboutin: as well as renowned restaurants and jewellery shops.
Belgravia’s main shopping streets are the chic and sophisticated Elizabeth Street, which plays host to luxury brands like Philip Treacy and Allegra Hicks, and Motcomb Street, which features flagship boutiques from Carolina Bucci and Louise Kennedy.
A Grosvenor spokesperson said: “Mayfair and Belgravia have long been regarded as London’s most glamorous and desirable districts, which makes them natural homes for some of the world’s most prestigious high-end fashion brands, and for some of London’s best shopping streets.
“Visiting Mayfair and Belgravia during London Fashion Week is a great excuse to get away from the hustle and bustle of the exhibition crowds, and take advantage of some of the prestigious brands and shopping opportunities on offer.”
“They’re close to the main event venues, too, so those visiting London Fashion Week can browse our shops, take afternoon tea or pamper themselves with a spa treatment, without having to travel too far from where the action is.”
