Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI), the world leader in indie book publishing, announced Anarchy Management client/screenwriter, Zachary Zerries, optioned the film rights of “The Foreign Pawn” for possible feature film development. Anarchy Management principal Sammy Montana assisted Zerries in closing the deal. The Cold-War period novel, written by Lee Yagel and published by Trafford, resulted from adding Author Solutions’ Book-to-Screen coverage services to his publishing package.

In “The Foreign Pawn” a man who has no memory of his past wakes up in a Russian Gulag. He adopts a new identity in order to survive his years of imprisonment before finally learning of his dark past. “It’s a great Cold-War era spy novel filled with intrigue, twists and turns. I wrote it with the big screen in mind and am thrilled I utilized Author Solutions’ Book-to-Screen coverage services because that’s what really opened doors for my book,” said Yagel.

Yagel purchased Book-to-Screen coverage services as part of his Trafford self-publishing package. The services also included a listing in the ASI Hollywood Database and a first-of-its-kind online service that organizes the themes and ideas from books self-published through ASI imprints into a searchable database, which is easily navigated by qualified entertainment professionals.

“The Foreign Pawn” caught my attention right away because it fits perfectly within my client's portfolio of projects known for their rich storylines and compelling characters. I shared it with screenwriter Zach Zerries, and he was immediately on board,” said Montana.

“We are thrilled that our Book-to-Screen services helped introduce author Lee Yagel to Anarchy Management,” said Keith Ogorek, senior vice president of marketing for Author Solutions, Inc. “We created these services to give self-published authors a better shot of getting their books considered for development as a movie or TV show.”
