Winnipeg, Manitoba (PRWEB) September 17, 2012

On September 20 from 3-7 p.m., The Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) is throwing an end-of-summer Tailgate Party to celebrate pet adoption! In addition to this event, The WHS will be offering a discounted price of $99 on dog adoptions and $9.99 for adult cat adoptions for the duration of the day.

The Tailgate Party will be held in the parking lot of The WHS at 45 Hurst Way just off Waverley. It is free to attend and all members of the public are welcome, even if they’re not intending to adopt.

“We’re throwing this family-friendly party so we can really showcase the importance and rewards of adopting a pet in a really fun way,” says Bill McDonald, CEO of The Winnipeg Humane Society, “By offering this reduced adoption rate, we hope to free up some space for the animals who are constantly coming in to our shelter.”

Attendees will enjoy live music, food from Sis & Me Mobile Catering, and performances by athletic dog group, InnerDrive K-9 Sports Team and the students from The Hutton Academy of Irish Dance. Plus, there will be face painting and balloon animals for the kids.

The WHS encourages the public to bring their furry friends with them to enjoy this outdoor event and asks that they bring a lawn chair.
