Ephesoft Inc., the leader in providing advanced cloud-ready capture solutions, announced today its first sale into the US Federal Government. The sale was conducted through a large systems integrator to an agency within the Department of Defense. Further additional sales are planned as users understand the full capabilities of the Ephesoft platform and the speed with which they can implement large-scale advanced document classification projects.
The systems integrator discovered Ephesoft through research into open source alternatives to traditional expensive proprietary systems. Budget was also a criteria that played a key role. After becoming familiar with Ephesoft through the free community edition and understanding the simple approach to document classification and metadata extraction, the integrator had a short trial with the Ephesoft Enterprise Edition to address the DoD's specific request. This successful test was followed shortly with an order. The Enterprise Edition is well-suited for organizations that need the extra features (thin client scanning, high availability, clustering, etc.) and complete technical support that Enterprise offers.
“Ephesoft is pleased to have our first sale in the government sector. With the growing acceptance of commercial open source technologies and the budget pressures all organizations face, Ephesoft is a great option especially for government agencies. And Ephesoft is now on the GSA price schedule to make buying easier." said Don Field, Ephesoft CEO.
