http://www.datatrend.com - Datatrend Technologies, an IT solution provider, today announces enhancements to its IT asset management solution known as IT Optimization Pro. With IT Optimization Pro, Datatrend helps companies answer previously unknown questions related to their IT assets and environment, such as number of servers, network efficiency, data security, license compliance, and where cost savings may be obtained.

The enhancements include an optional analytic engine that provides detailed reports on consolidation alternatives along with financial metrics for scenario modeling. Credential-less scanning of the IT estate is also available to avoid the need for special access/security approvals during the discovery phase.

Cost savings such as unnecessary services, virus protection problems and/or outdated/underutilized servers can be identified and acted upon through the discovery enabled by IT Optimization Pro (ITOP). With ITOP, anything with an IP address can be discovered and inventoried quickly and easily. In addition, ITOP can take electronic data feeds from inventory tools, making the assessment quick and less prone to error.
With ITOP, IT professionals can thoroughly evaluate the following:

  •     Software assessment. A software compliance assessment to assist with resolving issues regarding licensing
  •     Server discovery. Server discovery and utilization monitoring are useful in determining what servers could be consolidated or virtualized.
  •     Performance monitoring. Detailed reports offer asset identity information, such as running processes, application software, hardware configuration, server dependencies and more.

With this powerful IT assessment and asset discovery tool at their fingertips, IT professionals can report with analytics in hand to the C-Suite using the financial terms from which they operate. This allows for a deeper integration between the two groups as it relates to identifying further IT optimization savings for the entire organization.

“We believe the enhancements to ITOP will truly make IT asset management an easy undertaking, compared to other evaluative processes,” said Darren Waldrep, Vice President of Alliances and Marketing for Datatrend Technologies. “And with the analytics capabilities, IT organizations and departments can truly transform their IT environments plus mitigate risk and improve their bottom line.”

Datatrend has been assisting clients in evaluating IT environments for years. With ITOP, Datatrend has saved clients millions of dollars in the management of their IT assets through server consolidation, elimination of unnecessary services and closing security holes. With fewer hours needed for data gathering and validating, ITOP has helped IT organizations spend more time enhancing their IT infrastructure and improving service levels for the betterment of company performance.
