We are ecstatic to have Dennis at this year’s event and hope nobody misses what is sure to be a memorable show!

On Monday, September 24, 2012 Push to Walk will host its 5th Annual Charity Golf Outing honoring Dr. Wise Young at Wild Turkey, Crystal Springs Golf Resort, 1 Wild Turkey Way, Hamburg, NJ. This year Push to Walk celebrates its 5th anniversary and the first ever Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month in the State of New Jersey. To thank supporters for their continued generosity Push to Walk is featuring the Dennis Walters Golf Show at 11:30 AM at the David Leadbetter Academy prior to shotgun start. The show welcomes all audiences, is free and open to the public.
Dennis Walters travels around the country with his one hour combination show of golf and life lessons. Dennis’ dream was to become a professional golfer, but in 1974 had an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. After his accident he found there were a lot of things he could not do, but he made sure golf would not be one of them. The show includes background explanation, tips, tricks, and his best friend Super Dog, Bucky! Dennis has remained active in the golf community and is one of eleven honorary lifetime members of The PGA of America and in 2008 was presented with The Distinguished Service Award by them.
“Dennis Walters is the perfect match for our outing. After giving up on golf for years when he sustained a spinal cord injury, he decided to use his personal experience to inspire and motivate others to never give up and realize their full potential. We are ecstatic to have Dennis at this year’s event and hope nobody misses what is sure to be a memorable show,” said Cynthia Templeton, President of Push to Walk.
Push to Walk is able to cover only about 75% of its operating costs through client fees, and relies on fundraising events to help make up the difference. “Our annual charity golf outing is our largest and most important event, raising us the funds to help cover operating costs, purchase new equipment, and create scholarship opportunities for clients in need,” explains Cynthia.
