The most important lesson here for me is that if you have the vision and drive and determination and you immerse yourself into whatever it is that you are trying to do, you can and will accomplish that goal.

Nellie Akalp is a passionate entrepreneur, a small business advocate, and the mother of four children who devotes her time to not only building out her flourishing small business helping other entrepreneurs succeed, but packing lunches, checking homework and changing diapers.

Nellie has perfected the balance of being a mom, the CEO of CorpNet.com, and maintaining a healthy relationship with her husband and business partner of 15 years. Through their various business ventures together, Nellie has formed hundreds of thousands of corporations and LLCs across the U.S.

For her hard work and enthusiasm in helping people start and manage a business, Akalp has been named a Top 100 Champion in the 2012 Small Business Influencer Awards. The Small Business Influencer Awards honor those who are influential to small businesses in North America, through the products, services, knowledge, information or support they provide to the small business market.

The Influencer Awards had more than 900 nominations, and the winners were selected through community votes and a panel of judges. Akalp is one of 100 Champions who will be honored at a Gala in New York City on October 17.

Akalp was surprised and honored to be recognized for her hard work with small businesses: “You become a champion by fighting one more round...the most important lesson here for me is that if you have the vision, drive, and the determination, and you immerse yourself into whatever it is that you are trying to do, you can and will accomplish that goal in the face of any obstacle or challenge.”

As CEO of CorpNet.com, Akalp helps business owners incorporate a business, form an LLC, and complete other business filings. She frequently participates in online videos, writes blog posts, and offers her expertise via social media to better serve the small business community.

“It’s clear that Nellie is passionate about helping small business owners succeed,” said Susan Payton, President of Egg Marketing & Communications, “She invests time and energy into helping both clients and entrepreneurs that she meets.”

Being honored by the Small Business Influencer Awards is another well-deserved feather in Akalp’s hat: “It’s definitely confirmation and validation that from a career standpoint I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing, which is empowering, inspiring, and educating small business owners and entrepreneurs about starting, protecting, and running their small business.”
