Richard Sear will visit the Austin SCIP (Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals) Chapter to share his expertise and present his highly rated, thought provoking talk on Mega Trends at 6:00 p.m. on October 25th, 2012.

Richard’s 17 years at Frost & Sullivan have led him to work with virtually every industry, from energy to healthcare to IT, giving him a truly rounded perspective of the global business environment. An extensive traveler, Richard has worked and consulted in more than 40 countries.

As a Corporate Vice President of Frost & Sullivan, Richard Sear oversees multiple functions with a mission to drive growth for its clients. Richard strongly believes that we can shape the future by taking practical, data driven steps to keep decision making firmly grounded in future certainties.

Richard will provide stimulating content to illustrate how technology developments will change our lives. Discussions will include the grand impact of Urbanization, e-Mobility, Healthcare, Global Economies and many more current trends. "Austin SCIP is an exciting opportunity for me to share some of my insights to their growing base of both members and non members this October. I love SCIP because it really appreciates how important understanding trends are to organizational long-term health, and critical to the competitive environment that can come from potentially unknown origins. It should be an interesting and thought provoking session and I very much look forward to it," said Mr. Sear.

Austin SCIP Steering Committee member, Jeff Chiesa, was lucky enough to get into Richard’s related presentation at the National SCIP Conference this May. Jeff states, "Richard's talk at SCIP in Philadelphia was a major highlight of the entire conference. His interactive approach guided the audience through visualization of future trends and scenarios. The concepts really hit home and made for a fun and stimulating presentation. We are extremely lucky to have the opportunity for him to provide this presentation to our local Austin SCIP Chapter."

In addition to this invigorating presentation by Richard, the event will allow attendees to benefit from some fun and valuable social networking time over drinks and hor d'oeuvres. Glen Brynteson, CEO of Market Awareness and Austin SCIP Chapter Chair states, “Our aggressively growing Austin Chapter has found this social time to be increasingly valuable as we continue to welcome new ambitious and intriguing professionals at every event.”
