LEESVILLE, S.C. – (September 17, 2012) – Author Alton Crapps unleashes his wisdom and knowledge about two intriguing truths in his book, A Layman’s Look at Cults and the Occult, to provide readers with enlightenment and spiritual guidance.

According to an online resource, cults are religious group or sector that practice a pattern of ritual behavior in connection with specific objects, within a framework of spatial and temporal coordinates. Occult, on the other hand, refers to the knowledge of the hidden—beyond the realm of human comprehension. While these two are different, they both pose a similar spiritual danger to people. How much truth do people know about cult and occult?

This book reveals that there are many cults all over the world who are practicing occultism. Most of these groups are alive and well today and drawing in millions of people to their false doctrines. A Layman’s Look at Cults and the Occult is designed to lay something relatively comprehensible for the average layperson. It relates the author’s experiences and travels that allow him to discover some vital truths and information about cult and occultism. Crapps explores the Old Cults—delving into Roman Catholicism, Christian Science, Unitarianism, Freemasonry, and other religious sectors. He also looks into the New Cults—digging on The Unification Church, The Healing Movement, Branhamism, The New Age Movement, and other practices. Furthermore, he offers a discussion on occult religions and system—showing the works of Spiritism, witchcraft and Satanism, astrology, Kabala, I Ching, and The Tarot.

Supported by powerful verses from the Bible, this book paves the way to a better understanding of these religious groups and practices that continue to jeopardize and shaken people’s faith in God. A Layman’s Look at Cults and the Occult will shed light to the confusing spiritual teachings and enforce truth to avoid deception—allowing readers to learn more about the Words of God through the Bible and learn how to recognize false teachings and counter deceit.
