Cross Country Home Services (CCHS), one of the country’s leading providers of home warranty products and maintenance plans, was presented with a Silver Stevie® Award in the “Information Technology Department of the Year” category at last night’s 10th Annual American Business Awards (ABA).

The ABAs are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the trophies were presented to honorees during a gala banquet on Monday, September 17 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco. More than 200 nominees and their guests attended.

Suzan Low, Senior Manager of Data Management, attended the awards and accepted the Silver Award on behalf of the Information Technology organization. CCHS CIO, Joel Steigelfest said, “The Data Management team that received this recognition is part of a greater effort that has CCHS making significant investments in technology to build a solid IT infrastructure to ensure that our customers around the country are served promptly, efficiently, accurately, effectively and of course courteously.”

Significant recent investments in technology include the implementation of the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 enterprise resource planning system to streamline the information technology infrastructure and allow it to further customize warranty coverage and schedule service at the most convenient time by the most qualified technicians.

They also launched a dynamic new corporate website with new functionality that allows CCHS customers to register for updated product information and to submit claims online.    

More than 3,000 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 270 executives nationwide who participated in the judging process this year.

For the first time, the ABAs were presented at two awards events this year: the traditional awards banquet in New York in June, and at a new tech and products awards event last night in San Francisco. CCHS was honored with a Bronze Stevie® Award for “Customer Service Department of the Year” at the New York event.
