The four day occasion, which ran from 14th – 18th September in the nation’s capital, featured exhibitions from a variety of different designers. One of the most popular themes to emerge from this years’ event was science fiction. Scottish fashion designer, Christopher Kane, displayed a collection he described as a cross between sickly sweet and Frankenstein, whilst Canadian-born Erdem Moralioglu spoke of his influence from Zena Henderson. As one of the earliest science fiction writers, Moralioglu claimed his exhibition was based upon novel “The People”, a story of aliens trying to fit into a new planet.

The specialist traders at 8 Ball are well-known for their keen interest in industry news and were eager to establish the latest trends from the show. The science fiction theme in particular attracted great attention. A representative from the firm shares their thoughts on the matter.

“It’s always intriguing to see what’s happening around us. The science fiction theme happens to be a common trend of ours as well. People love to express their interest for a popular TV show, book or movie so we aim to create iconic designs and slogans that really capture their popularity.”
