Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) September 20, 2012
Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Washington Electric Membership Cooperation.
Washington EMC is a member/owner non-profit electric cooperative providing energy services to customers in Washington, Johnson, Hancock, Baldwin, Warren, Laurens, Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, and Wilkinson counties in Georgia.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Worldview, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequencing, Disturbance Analysis, IED Wizard and Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Voltage Reduction and Multispeak and Power Factor Control.
“Survalent is pleased to have Washington EMC upgrade their existing SCADA system to a Windows Server operating system and take advantage of our MultiSpeak interface,” states Steve Strauss, Vice President of Sales for the Eastern United States. “SCADA can make other utility software systems more valuable by sharing high level real time information. In an outage management system, a confirmed outage is provided by SCADA when a field device opens. This gives operators immediate knowledge of their system rather than waiting for a prediction of the outage condition.”
