Palm Beach, FL (PRWEB) September 20, 2012
With the goal of breathing fresh life into print media, PALM BEACH Woman magazine, whose target readership is professional women, achieved rapid success in less than two years. With its first issue in May 2011, published by Jill Duggan, the magazine has been sold to Lauren Malis of the Luxe Group, a Palm Beach based event planning and marketing company who will assume the role of Publisher. Jill Duggan will stay involved as Founder and Advisor and is currently involved in other endeavors that also advocate women.
When asked what contributed to the success of magazine and its website, Duggan said, “The combination of career and lifestyle content plus our Palm Beach Achiever awards and celebrity interviews positioned us differently from first issue. When you read PALM BEACH Woman, you become inspired and engaged and think about possibilities.” The magazine has a unique format which begins with its Spotlight on Success section, comprised of celebrity businesswomen including Ivanka Trump and Patti Stanger the Millionaire Matchmaker and Kyle Richards of Housewives of Beverly Hills plus others.
Celebrity women share their career stories and provide advice to the readers. The publication also has a section dedicated to recognizing the achievements of local businesswomen and it awards ten women in each issue with the title of, Palm Beach Achiever.
Duggan is not leaving the magazine, she believes she is taking it with her to her next project which is a television series based on the premise of PALM BEACH Woman, titled, America’s Next Businesswoman.
“The magazine reinforced what I already knew as a businesswoman-- women appreciate recognition and never stop striving for achievement. Seems like once we set a goal and achieve it, we automatically go on to the next one and I’m doing just that by developing this TV concept. Women spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours a year attending business seminars and reading magazines like PALM BEACH Woman. They do this to become well-informed and to network as a community of like-minded women. While these resources provide content, they are missing the greatest resource businesswomen need and our new show concept has the solution. We will give thousands of women the chance of a lifetime to audition and be cast in a docu-series about women in business; it can take their career to a level they never could have done by just reading a magazine or going to a seminar,” Duggan continued to say.
As the show is in early stages of development, Jill Duggan returned to corporate America in April as Director of Markeitng for BABOR Cosmetics North America, a luxury skincare line found at the finest resorts, day spas and cosmetics boutiques around the world. “Accepting the position with BABOR was a natural for me not just because of my years of experience in consumers products marketing but for my passion to keep women looking their best and achieving their best,“ Duggan said.
