Redmond, WA (PRWEB) September 19, 2012
Pogo Linux (http://www.pogolinux.com) and Pogo Storage (http://www.pogostorage.com), the leading open-source systems and open storage solution integrators, today announced the availability of enhanced Pogo products utilizing the LSI Nytro™ MegaRAID® acceleration cards. These new PCIe flash cards combine leading RAID data protection with intelligent caching to on-board flash, delivering enterprise-class performance and reliability in many Pogo system configurations. Pogo server systems and managed storage appliances built with Nytro™ MegaRAID® cards are available immediately.
LSI Nytro MegaRAID cards uniquely integrate LSI SandForce® flash storage processors with enterprise RAID data protection using the company’s dual-core RAID-on-Chip (ROC) technology. LSI Nytro MegaRAID cards are designed for a wide variety of I/O-intensive workloads, and allows for an even more efficient Hybrid storage model. System latency can be reduced by up to 47X, dramatically improving application performance and response time, resulting in a lower cost-per-gigabyte and cost-per-transaction compared to pure SSD-based solutions.
Pogo will offer LSI Nytro MegaRAID cards as an option for a wide variety of rackmount servers and workstations designed specifically for high I/O applications such as database, computation, and OLTP workloads. On the storage side, LSI Nytro MegaRAID cards have been integrated into the fully-managed Linux-based PogoStor solution series. These products are designed to serve high-performance storage for many different workloads, from a few terabytes to multi-petabyte deployments.
“LSI is excited to have Pogo, a longstanding and valued LSI Preferred Partner, be one of the first to integrate LSI Nytro MegaRAID cards into its product lines,” said Brent Blanchard, director of worldwide channel sales and marketing, LSI Corporation. "Pogo server and storage systems featuring LSI Nytro MegaRAID cards bring affordable application acceleration and enterprise RAID data protection in a single integrated package to datacenter and IT managers in DAS environments."
“Our data center and hosted services customers with big data challenges are constantly pushing the boundaries to deliver responsive, highly-available products and services to their end-users," said Erik Logan, CEO of Pogo Linux and Pogo Storage. “LSI Nytro MegaRAID cards enable us to help customers with large data and high I/O demands meet their high-performance, intelligent acceleration, and enterprise data protection needs while offering a lower overall cost of ownership.”
Pogo Linux servers and workstations, and Pogo Storage managed storage solutions featuring LSI Nytro MegaRAID acceleration cards are available now and ready for immediate deployment.
