“We’d like to believe that all our food tours’ exciting sounds, sights, aromas, flavors, and good feelings come across in our little videos," Diane Scalia, Melting Pot Food Tours.

Melting Pot Tours, the original food tours company in Los Angeles, proudly announced the official launch of their first You Tube Channel this month.

“People are familiar with the classic sightseeing tours of old towns, cathedrals and castles,” says Lisa Scalia, co-founder of Melting Pot Food Tours, “but a culinary food tour is something so very different, we felt we needed a better way to convey that.”

Melting Pot Tours’ You Tube Channel features a range of short movies that profile all three of the company’s food tours. The short reels are intended to give people a glimpse of the fun to be had on a Melting Pot Food Tour, whether it be in Old Pasadena, East Los Angeles, or the famed Original Farmers Market/Third Street in mid-city LA.

“Some of the movies were shot by our own tour guests,” explains Lisa, “while others are like a short video homage compiled by some of our local LA tour fans and photojournalists.”

“We’re not suggesting the films will win any awards,” joked Diane Scalia, co-founder of Melting Pot Food Tours, “but we think we get across how special our food tours are. We hope to add more and better videos to the channel later on, as we get more experience creating them.”

According to Diane, a food tour is special because it combines sightseeing and history with tasting extraordinary flavors, as guest meander through wonderfully unique neighborhoods. “A typical dining experience may be confined to a meal of only one type of cuisine, like Thai or Italian. A food tasting tour is more expansive, in that guests get to enjoy sampling a multitude of fabulous cuisines, one after another,” she says.

Tour guests also get to learn the history and influences of the foods’ origins, and meet the merchants that have brought these foods to life in Los Angeles. “We’d like to believe that all our food tours’ exciting sounds, sights, aromas, flavors, and good feelings come across in our little videos,” Diane says.

Her sister Lisa adds, “We hope people’s sense of adventure will resonate with the short movies and they’ll be inspired to come and experience a Melting Pot Food Tour for themselves!”
