Social media analytics company to provide analysis on full archive of Tweets back to 2006

“We’re excited to offer access to historical Tweets to our customers and look forward to enabling them to get the most comprehensive analysis of Twitter activity available."

Union Metrics, the company behind the popular Twitter analytics web service TweetReach, today announced TweetReach Historical Analytics, a new product offering that enables in-depth, full coverage analysis of all public Tweets in the full Twitter archive dating back to 2006.

With the new product, TweetReach customers can now analyze Tweets from any time in Twitter's history, starting with the very first public Tweet posted in March 2006. This new capability enhances current TweetReach offerings, including snapshot reports, which provide analytics on Tweets from the past week, and TweetReach Pro, the company’s subscription service that provides comprehensive, real-time analytics for marketers who want to track and analyze a topic on Twitter in real time, as the conversation unfolds.

TweetReach Historical Analytics features include:

  • Full-fidelity coverage of all Tweets posted since March 2006
  • Custom time ranges allow for analysis of a few hours to a few years of data
  • In-depth analytics, including summary reach, exposure, volume and contributor metrics, as well as detailed information for hashtags and URLs and so much more
  • Historical analytics can be use to backfill an existing TweetReach Pro Tracker, or as a standalone one-time purchase

Demand for TweetReach historical analytics has been building and came out of requests from TweetReach customers for analysis of older Tweets. “We use TweetReach Pro to track Twitter activity about brands and celebrities, such as Shay Mitchell, star of the popular ABC Family show ‘Pretty Little Liars’. For the #PLLayWithShay Tweet chat with Shay earlier this summer, we needed access to historical Tweets to round out our analysis,” said Richard Janes, a Founding Partner at Fanology Social. “We love that it’s now so easy to pull historical data into our Twitter analysis and our clients are thrilled to have the full story of how fans engage with their favorite shows and stars.”

Some popular use cases for TweetReach Historical Analytics include:

  • Unexpected Twitter emergencies
  • Recurring annual or monthly events
  • Competitor and share of voice analysis
  • Benchmarking to compare new tweets to older tweets
  • Research about a past event or topic

The TweetReach Historical Analytics product leverages Gnip’s recently announced Historical PowerTrack for Twitter to access raw Tweet data. “Historical PowerTrack for Twitter enhances solutions built on the real-time Twitter stream and enables complete access to all the Tweets a customer might need,” said Chris Moody, president & COO of Gnip. “It's great to see Union Metrics incorporating historical Tweets into their TweetReach analytics service and this speaks to the pent up demand for historical Twitter data.”

“Our customers have been asking for analytics on historical Tweets for some time to help complete the picture of the impact their campaigns are having on Twitter,” said Hayes Davis, CEO of Union Metrics. “We’re excited to offer this capability and look forward to enabling our customers to get the most comprehensive analysis of Twitter activity available.”

TweetReach Historical Analytics are available now and pricing starts at $149 per report.
