Goody Awards Announces 4 Global Social Good Events This Week

As part of the global social good celebration in New York, Los Angeles and online this week, the Goody Awards (http://goodyawards.com) announces four events highlighting Social Enterprise Panels and Teacher Goody Awards. Along with hosting a Social Media Week LA Panel, the Goody Awards will recognize two college professors making an impact as part of their Back to School Campaign (Sept 1 - Oct 15, 2012). As the world comes together digitally this week to discuss social good ideas, the Goody Awards will be taking a lead role coast-to-coast at four events. Anyone can join the conversations via social media of the Social Good Summit LA Meetup on Mon, 9/24 and Social Media Week LA Social Enterprise and Entertainment Panel on Wed, 9/26. As part of the Goody Awards Back to School Campaign, students will also honor two professors with Teacher Goody Awards for inspiring creativity.

Panelists will share the challenges of being for profit in the social good and entertainment space, their ah ha moment, cause marketing campaigns and best advice for anyone wanting to start a social enterprise. Fri, Sept 28, 2012 – One of the first Teacher Goody Awards will be presented to Professor Ravi Aron PhD, who teaches Digital Marketplace at Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business in Baltimore, MD. The award will be presented by Global MBA student and Goody Awards Intern Tim Sissons, who brings a global prospective from New Zealand. Tim explained, “I'm delighted that Professor Aron is to be awarded one of the first Teacher Goody Awards. He brings an energy and enthusiasm to his classroom that students can actually feel. Professor Aron makes the science accessible, the key concepts understandable and the learning fun. His teaching is an inspiration as you leave the classroom not only with an understanding of the material, but a real sense of how the concepts can and are applied.”

Mon, Oct 1, 2012 - A second #TeacherGoody Award will be presented to Johns Hopkins University Professor and Anthropology Department Chair Niloofar Haeri PhD by Sophmore Nicole Bakabania and Goody Awards Intern. Nicole described why she selected her professor for this honor, "Professor Haeri is a professor who loves to learn the material just as much as she loves teaching it. Her excitement and creativity when in her Anthropology courses, and her kindness and genuine love for the subject makes her more than fitting to receive a Teacher Goody Award."

To support arts-education, the Goody Awards is also donating free PR for their Back to School Campaign to two education causes in Los Angeles who provide creative mentoring to underserved students: CreateNow.org and the Young Storytellers Foundation.
