In 1993, international engineering software company, CD-adapco purchased the 17,357 sq ft building where its Melville, NY Headquarters currently resides. Over the past year, the company completed a $3 million renovation to the interior and exterior of the building.
Two of the company’s founders, Steve MacDonald and Bill Wheeler have lived on Long Island since 1980. In 1987, adapco joined forces with the UK’s Computational Dynamics, Ltd. CD-adapco has come a long way since the early days and currently employs over 100 people in New York alone. Its software is used at almost every major automotive company in the world, and across a wide range of industries such as aerospace & defense, renewable energy, electronics, oil & gas and nuclear. CD-adapco brings in about $165 million annually.
On Saturday, September 22, CD-adapco will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the CD-adapco headquarters’ renovations. The event will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm. The ceremony will include speeches from Steve MacDonald, President; Sharron MacDonald, Senior Executive VP; Bill Wheeler, Vice President; and guest speaker Peter Goldsmith, President of LISTnet (Long Island Software & Technology Network). There will also be the ribbon cutting, group photo, demonstrations, tours and some fun activities for children.
